Manufacturer’s photo: box and retatrutide 40 mg pen on white marble

Read the label, understand the measure

This page explains how concentration is expressed on the label and how milligrams relate to millilitres. It is not a usage scheme: the dose and frequency are always set by a healthcare professional.

What the pen says

The pen contains 40 mg of retatrutide dissolved in 3 mL of solution. Dividing 40 by 3 gives 13.33: that is 13.33 mg in every millilitre. That figure is the concentration, and it is the same in every unit, because the solution leaves the plant ready prepared.

The pen already shows the selected setting in its window, so there is no need to convert milligrams into millilitres in order to use it.

Total amount40 mg
Solution volume3 mL
Concentration13.33 mg/mL

The relationship between the three quantities

concentration (mg/mL)=amount (mg)÷Volume (mL)

This relationship is for reading any label. It does not say how much should be used.

Reading example

If a label says “40 mg / 3 mL”, the concentration is 40 ÷ 3 = 13.33 mg/mL. If it said “20 mg / 4 mL”, it would be 20 ÷ 4 = 5 mg/mL: the same operation, different data.
